A single ERDF PA2 Investment Plan covers five former coalfield districts across North Derbyshire and North Nottinghamshire. In Derbyshire this benefits Bolsover and Chesterfield and in Nottinghamshire, Ashfield, Bassetlaw and Mansfield. The ERDF Investment Plan indicates funding will be used to support economic and enterprise activities which benefit the most disadvantaged communities within the eligible areas. Within this programme the priority will be to support activities which:

• Stimulate and support new markets and enterprise opportunities;
• Build local capacity, provide resources and support to develop the economy within local communities; and
• Revive local infrastructure and environments.

The Local Investment Plan was launched on 30 June 2008 at the Winding Wheel in Chesterfield.
