European Territorial Cooperation (INTERREG) Programmes

Welcome to the East Midlands INTERREG web pages.

The Structural Funds’ budget for the 2007-2013 programming period includes provision for Territorial Cooperation Programmes, designed to promote co-operation and joint working between Member States with the aim of furthering regional economic development.  These are more commonly referred to as the INTERREG programmes.

The East Midlands is eligible for funding under strands B and C of the INTERREG Programme.  There are 10 geographically defined sub-programmes under strand B and the East Midlands is eligible to participate in 2 of these, the North West Europe Programme and the North Sea Region Programme; whereas the C strand covers the whole of the European Union with one programme.  Details of these programmes are available in the relevant sections on the left.

To find out more about INTERREG, details of each of the programmes and where to go for more information, please use the menu on the left.  The FAQ page answers the most common questions about European Territorial Cooperation and provides links to more detailed information where appropriate.
